The Cosplay Contest is a competitive event that brings local and out of state fans and cosplayers to compete in costume competition. This is a kid’s friendly event.

Cosplay Contest will have 2 contest categories: Character Cosplay Award (Best in Show), and A Custom Cosplay award (Best Original Design) and 3 Judges awards.

Cosplay Fashion Contest is our fun, entry level competition for all cosplayers. Come out and show off your cosplay and have fun! 3 Judges Awards will be provided.

Cosplay Contest Starts at 4:00pm
Pre-Judging Saturday 3:00pm

Please Note: No online registration.
Check-in will be inside Hall 3.

Rules

  • By signing up to join the contest you are agreeing to adhere to these rules.
  • Be respectful of your fellow cosplayer (and our team!)
  • Please write legibly on sign-up sheet! This ensures that the show goes as smoothly as possible.
  • There will only be up to 50 available slots on the sign up! A location of the cosplay signups will be provided at the convention.
  • Fresno Comic Expo team will not be able to provide any music changes or lighting cues.
    Unfortunately, we are also unable to take music requests or submissions, as well.
  • Skits will not be possible during the show. Just pose and show off your creativity and personality in the time provided!
  • Remember your place in line, keep your number in hand. This also ensures that the show runs smoothly.
  • During the contest, enter and exit the stage at designated points only, unless inaccessible. Follow coordinators directions.
  • Pre-judging Saturday 3:00pm. Cosplay Judge TBA.
  • Registration will be held in the Gaming Hall.
  • Check-in 30mins before Cosplay Contest

Categories

Saturday Cosplay Contest

Open for everyone at all levels, Saturday competition pre-judging is required to enter the contest. Cosplay book is not required but would be review by judges if brought. We are looking to seeing everyone cosplay creations on Saturday.

Character Cosplay (Best in Show Award) – Your favorite character brought to life. Close to the character representation. At least 75% or more of cosplay needs to be created by you to enter.

Original Cosplay (Best Creative Cosplay Award) – Bringing your character to life. From sketching, designing and finally crafting. We want to see what you create!

Categories:

  • Best in Show Award – (Mixed Media Costumes)
  • Best Creative – (Stylized, Resourceful, Materials, ETC.)
  • Best Build – (Foam, 3D Print, Worbla, ETC.)
  • Novice Cosplayer

Judging

Prejudging will be held on Saturday when doors open at
10:00am to 3:00 pm for (Saturday Cosplay Contest).
Pre-judging locations to be announced.
Sunday Exhibition Cosplay Contest, there will be no pre-judging.

Best in Show & Best Creative awards, cosplayers must make at least 75% or more of the costume to qualified for the top awards. We suggest that you bring your cosplay book for judging. Be honest on what you made and if other parts were bought or commissions. No liquid or hazardous materials are used on stage.

  • Please note, if your costume has won a major award before at Anime Gaming Con or another cosplay competition, you are NOT eligible for any awards in this contest, but you may still enter as a showcase piece. Rule breakers will be disqualified.

Cosplay Contest Signups will require the cosplay character name, name of the anime show which the character is from. Your first and last name.
Original Cosplay, please include cosplay character name. Your first and last name.

Cosplay Contest starts at 4:00pm. Please arrived 30mins or earlier to check-in.
